Dear family and friends,

As you all know by now, our beloved brother and Connie's husband, David, died on Saturday, August 11 following a courageous battle with cancer.

Memorial services for David V. Johnson will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2007, at CrossPointe Community Church 2601 24th Ave SE, Norman, OK 73071. Brother Joe Grizzle, his pastor, will officiate.

Memorial donations may be made to CrossPointe Church for the new youth facility.

We will celebrate his life in this Memorial Service together, as he wished.

AWESOME California Trip!

Connie and David arrived home on July 9th with lots of TERRIFIC stories and plenty of pics. God is so good to see them safely through their travels. Some pics are posted here for you. The rest you'll have to go and visit them to see.

Dougall Agan arranged a special surprise for a vintage car to take David and Connie around the coast and they even found an open Dairy Queen that served Dilly® Bars, so they had one! :)

Here is the car in full view. David claims it was an excellent ride and a beautiful and memorable day, thanks to Dougall.

It was also a great reunion with family and friends. Here's a picture of the Johnson clan from left to right - Todd, David, Connie, Robin and Chadd.

And Todd and Jan's new baby, Callan Marie, took to grandma Connie with great affection!

C&D's friends, from left to right (below) Dick and Ann Shamber and Tim and Judy Walgren traveled to the beach and had a chance to catch up and spend valuable time together.

And below is a picture of Chadd, Dougall, and Robin.

Blessings for now. I'll be posting more later this week!
Enjoy! :)

David's Ritual

Happy Father's Day!

Please keep David in your prayers as he continues his writing on Ervis' s life. He is disciplined to get his routine going each morning and is making great progress.

David and Connie are looking forward to their trip to California June 27-July 9. They are staying right on the ocean where friends and family will be visiting them there. Talk about inspiration!

David's Writing Headquarters

Here's David hard at work finishing his book called "Four Full Seasons" about the life of 105 year-old Ervis Lester. He's dedicating two and one-half hours a day of intensive writing to this project. He appreciates our prayers that he will be focused and able to attend to the many details of transcribing all the interviews. You can see how much he enjoys it.

David's technologial command of the writing process is impressive. He has not one, but two, very powerful computer systems. By multi-generational standards, David's a traditionalist and he should not be this computer savvy!
Way to go David!

Connie's Baptism

What a blessing to witness Connie's baptism on Sunday, May 20. Her son, Todd, shown here on her left, flew in from California to assist her pastor, Brother Joe Grizzle (right), in the baptism.
Leonard captured the moments before and after and gave David these pics for you to see.

Connie was radiant and so excited to see many family and friends who were able to attend and stand with her. Romans 6:3-5:

"Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his."

Launching "Our Space"

David and Connie are en route to Iowa to visit David's mom for a few days while this blog is being posted for all our viewing and communication pleasure. Read David's short story called "Mystery Solved" to understand his journey.

I love this picture of David, Connie, and Ervis Lester (age 105) at church (go ahead and click on it)! You'll be hearing more about Ervis as David is completing his life story called "Four Full Seasons."

I met with Connie and David today to show him this blog site and get his take on using it to communicate with friends and family even easier than email.

Here are the Johnson lovebirds at the Crosspointe Valentine's party. Send me some fun pics to make Dave's day!

Blessings and love, Rita

David's Progress - Sunday, April 15

For those of you who don't know David Johnson ... he's the handsome guy on the far left, next to his wife, Connie. That's my husband Ron next to me and then Pam and Larry Hicks. We're all MUCers.

This blog will keep you updated on David's medical situation as he is in ICU at Oklahoma Medical Center.
